Mark McGlinchey, Founder and President, COMPASS GROUP SOLUTIONS, Biography

Mark McGlinchey has his own definition of insanity as it relates to business and sales procedures. "Insanity is when a company, or individual within that company, keeps doing the same thing over and over again, and expects a different result."

Mr. McGlinchey is recognized as one of the leading experts in the area of evaluating, hiring and training sales professionals. Many Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies have employed his services and he is a valued speaker at the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Conference.

Mark graduated from Purdue University. His desire to be a self-employed entrepreneur was realized when he started Indiana Parcel Service — an Indianapolis-based next day delivery company. At the end of the first year of operations, IPS was operating three trucks, had 29 customers and had produced $150,000 in revenue. By 1991, IPS was operating 125 vehicles in a three state area with 700 customers and revenues of over $7 million annually.

In 1988 and 1989, INC. Magazine recognized Indiana Parcel Service as one of the "100 Fastest Growing Companies To Watch". Mark was also nominated for Indianapolis Entrepreneur of the Year honors.

After selling Indiana Parcel Service to a Midwestern transportation conglomerate, Mark began the journey down his current career path - sales training and consulting.

Mr. McGlinchey has trained thousands of sales professionals. As a result of his personal experiences in sales, and his knowledge and expertise, he developed his own strategies and tactics for training selling professionals - the McGlinchey Method.

Over the course of a ten year period as a sales trainer and business consultant, Mark has been a speaker at countless corporate sales conferences and annual meetings. His client list includes some of the most recognizable corporations in the United States, such as: City Securities, Merrill Lynch, Firestone, Stratacom, Cisco Systems, Alcatel, Anthem, Acordia, Bell Industries, Raycal, Banc One and others.
